Tree-mendous

Something that's been sorely missing from my 15mm terrain collection are trees, or at least ones based in small groups (I've done a few individual ones).

My budget doesn't stretch to the nice flocked peces, so I bought in a couple of bags of some cheap plastic ones. They look plastic-y to start with, but given a spray of Green paint the foliage looks better. The spray does colour the trunks as well, but this helps disguise the gaps in the canopy. The trunks were sprays brown and dry brushed with grey.

These have been hot glued to some Renedra Oval Bases and given a routine basing treatment.

  1. Cracking work on the trees!

Where did you get them from as they paint up really nicely.

    All the best!

    1. Thanks, ScS. I think I got them from ebay (as they are not on my Amazon order list!) but as it was more that 2 years ago it's off my purchase list. Have a search and foun dthe same models @ https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10pcs-Green-Tree-Model-Train-Railway-Layout-Wargame-Architecture-HO-N-Scale/371546650053?epid=897864798&hash=item5681e7f5c5%3Ag%3AQxUAAOSw5VtaOpUz&fbclid=IwAR2Yer3DqBWiypUH_QVbGCGmKW3J1CR4dacehQowxaxu5y2I6ab2m_9mkYU . There are even cheaper trees to be had, but the branches aren't as good.

  2. Nice. I've got a few of those, and you've done a cracking job making them look a lot less plastic. I'm currently waiting for some fruit trees for my League of Rhordia terrain set, I'll try your method.

    1. Cheers, misterc. I fear for the fruit on your trees a bit though as I spray the "plastic parley" foliage.
